The Army's Energy Discovery

 New energy sources are not easy to make. Army scientists and engineers have been studying for a long time and have come up with this new nanomaterial that produces high amounts of energy. This nanomaterial is made out of aluminum. When it comes in contact with water or any liquid that contains water, it produces high amounts of energy. Researchers studied new sources of energy by adding water to a nano-galvanic aluminum powder. When coming in contact with this powder, the water molecules split up (two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom) to release energy.



The most plentiful element in the universe is found inside water; hydrogen. Hydrogen makes up 90% of the universe we live in. This element can be used to power fuel cells efficiently and without pollution. Troy Carter, a worker at Tech Link states, "One kilogram of the aluminum powder can produce 220 kilowatts of power in just three minutes." Carter is explaining that this source of energy is useful and a great discovery. It can fuel the human body for many different tasks.





This new, renewable resource is very useful to fuel the human body. The hydrogen goes into fuel cells which can be converted into mechanical, thermal, or sound energy. This new material is very unique and is still being tested. Scientists are currently documenting this new materialOne theory is that this material could possibly be 3-D printed. Scientists are currently documenting this with scholarly papers and intellectual property papers to coordinate future uses for this material.


From here, I believe this new discovery will change forms. It will eventually be a very useful form of energy that can be easily transferred directly into the human body. There could potentially be a fuel storage that someone could bring with them anywhere to give them an extra boost. Starting from an aluminum-based nano-galvanic powder, this new discovery could turn into an extra fuel supply. The possibilities are endless.
