Japan Nuclear Meltdown 2011

By Luke Tobin

If you didn’t know, the worst costly Tsunami hit Kagoshima, Japan. Folks were going on a normal days basis, not even thinking about what energys their school used or their house or the buses that the kids rode to school. But the entire energy and the economy was wiped out that day. The Tsunami hit hard and went six miles inland. Over 10,000 people were killed and it hit the Nuclear power plants. All the nuclear energy was instantly stopped.

Nuclear was the most used energy in japan to being banned for using for a energy source forever until all radiation is gone! Many people couldn't find a better energy source and when the city was nearly rebuilt by 2013, millions didn't have power because they didn't know about to switch to a new source. But another very dreadful thing that happened to Japan was lack of money.

The Tsunami costed $409 billion U.S.D. That was 18% of Japan's total money and economy. Tourist attractions were down and beaches were filled with radiation but tourists were coming to the abandoned Nuclear power plants. With the tourists flocking, Japan has re-earned 0.152% of 18% of their economy back. Out of the 18,000 casualties, 15,000 died, 2,750 missing and rest suicidal.

Japan is finding new ways of safe energy because they are frequently hit by many tectonic disasters. If Japan finds new ways of preventing natural disasters impacting energy, money could be saved and lives could too.
