Sound Waves

Sound Waves-By: Jillian Spiller

What are sound waves? Sound waves are invisible waves that travel to let us be able to hear. They are like an echo in a way. If what I am saying is confusing, think of it as a ball. When you throw a ball, it vibrates, just like sound waves. Sound waves are also how you hear. Hearing is one of the most complicated things in the world. By hearing you need to be able to give and receive complex sound waves. The sound waves go into your ear and make your eardrum vibrate in such waves to make you understand what sound is being made.

The sensitivity of hearing can be confusing. If the waves are not strong enough you can not hear them. If they are too loud they can hurt. If they are way too loud it can actually cause hearing damage, possibly even deafness. Sound waves are good though, do not worry! Without sound waves we would not be able to hear. This would lead to humans having no languages, and we would be no were as advanced as we are now.

Sound waves are something that we need. Without them our future would not even be nearly as advanced as we are right now. Many wars, trades, fights that happened to make the world the way is it now, would have never happened. We would have not had any form of communication for a much longer time. We would most likely be surviving off of sign language. This is why we need sound waves.
