UV Glasses
By: Chris Goncher
Ultra-Violet light is a wave on the Electromagnetic Spectrum and is invisible to humans with one exception. That exception is the very rare condition called tetrachromacy. Tetrachromacy is allows people with this condition to see a variety of colors invisible to everyone else. Ultraviolet light it produced by the sun and is sent in rays and waves down to Earth. Not to get confused with visible light, or sunlight. Too much of UV radiation can lead to sunburn or human tissue damage/burns.
Even though many people recognize the name UV and what it stands for (Ultra Violet) many people are only familiar with one effect. That effect is sunburn. Yes, UV does cause sunburn but it also damages tissue and can lead to skin cancer. UV has much more harsh effects than sunburn. People are also quick to assume that Ultra Violet is just plain sunlight, which is not the case. Ultra Violet is solar rays and EM waves that are invisible to the naked eye.

What is there was a way to see UV rays and waves, even if you didn't have Tetrachromacy? There are many animals that can see UV with their eyes, so what if we recreate those eyes to see the UV. Recent scientists have discovered a new technology/pair of glasses that see the UV. These glasses do this by filter out parts of the blue spectrum to see the rays.
