Sir Isaac Newton

Sir Isaac Newton

Sir Isaac Newton was one of the most important creators of physics. Physics is a branch of science that focuses mostly on matter and energy. Newton defined gravity, literally. He was most famous for his law of gravitation in the 17th century. Sir Isaac Newton was born on January 4, in the year 1643. He was a premature baby whose father died three months before he was born. After his mother remarried she went to go live with her new husband leaving Isaac to his maternal grandmother. This experience left Newton with an imprint of insecurity for the rest of his life. When Sir Isaac Newton was 12, his mother’s second husband died which lead to her return to her son Isaac.

As everyone knows Isaac did create the three most important laws in physics. Newton also made many observations in optics, motion, and mathematics. He helped form laws on all concepts of physics except for energy. He wrote many books and theorized that white light was a composite of all the other colors in the spectrum. His book of physics was called “Principia” and contained all of the information Newton gathered throughout his years of studying.

His three most important laws of motion defined physics forever. The first one was; “Every object persists in its state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed on it.” This law is taken into a form of inertia. The main point is that if there is no net force, the velocity will stay constant. The second law is; “Force is equal to the change in momentum per change in time. For a constant mass, force equals mass times acceleration.” This law gave us the formula to find the force of any given object. The last law of motion is; “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” This last law means for every force there is another force opposing it. We all have Sir Isaac Newton to thank for his theories in physics.

The field of physics has been going on since Newton passed away in 1727. As the science field continues to grow, the laws of physics will grow as well. With new technologies developing defining gravity will get easier and easier with people trying to go to space. Sir Isaac Newton laid a foundation for scientists today to make new discoveries and to invent new technologies.
