Earth's Magnetic Field

The Earth's magnetic field apparently is "generated" down from the inner core. A force called the Coriolis Force causes swirling whirlpools. That liquid flow produces currents of electricity, generating magnetic fields.

When you use a compass, it detects Earth's magnetic field and "North" is pointing to the geographic north pole (magnetic south pole). Hypothetically, if the magnetic field completely reversed itself, compasses would turn to Antarctica. Some people believe if this happened it would be the end of the world as we know it.

The most energetic rays are dangerous because they ionize radiation. However, fortunately for us, Earth has protective lines of radiation, which is its magnetic field. These lines deflect solar wind and radiation, which would otherwise burn off the ozone layer, burning everything on earth.

These lines that show the magnetic field are what protect the Earth
and also affect its orbit, rotation, and revolution.
Devices such as compass can detect these lines.
The Earth has a magnetic field shown by lines from its geographic north
pole and geographic south pole. However, ironically, the geographic north &
south poles are actually the magnetic south & north poles.
